I had a great uncle take his life about a decade ago. I have a friend who lost her son to suicide about that same time and another high school friend's son take his life earlier this year. My children have gone to school with kids lost to suicide. My son's were in a boy scout trip where the leader took his own life. This disease has touched , I would say, everyone in some way. Why? I can't explain it. I have always told my kids that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. It WILL get better. Give it an hour. If that doesn't work, give it another hour and so on. It absolutely breaks my heart that there are people, even possibly reading this right now, that are thinking of ending their own lives. You think no one cares. You think you are unworthy of love. That is not true. I love you. I may not know you, but I love you. I love you because you are worthy. You are a human capable of giving love and receiving love. You are WORTHY of that love. AND God loves you. It doesn't matter who you are, what you've done, what you've thought, what you feel. HE LOVES YOU. He created you and has great plans for you. This is suicide prevention week and there are suicide prevention workshops set up all around the Upstate this week. This would be great for parents, teachers, coaches and, really, anyone to attend.
